SUCTION ON DRILLING MACHINES
The Lorillard Group, a manufacturer of made-to-measure industrial
frames, needed a centralised extraction system for one of its
woodworking workshops, to be installed on its sanding machines.
For the comfort of its operators and the evolution of its process, this
company wished to acquire two sanding machines, the sanding
operations being carried out manually before. These new machines
mean that the operator is no longer directly confronted with the wood
dust and has to do less handling.
In order to protect the operators and improve comfort, it was essential
to equip these new machines, which operate 16 hours a day, with an
efficient dust removal system. Also, the sanding machines are sensitive
and adapt automatically to be able to sand the wood correctly, so the
environment had to be clean and well dusted.
The technical solution offered by NEU-JKF Wood Industry enabled
Lorillard to improve its manufacturing process at the sanding stage.
AN EFFICIENT AUTOMATED SYSTEM
A Jetline V, an ATEX dust collector with a capacity of 27,000 m3/h,
was installed outside the workshop. It operates by compressed
air cleaning. The dust is discharged under the dust collector via a
sluice and a two-way auger allowing two skips to be loaded, in an
automated manner. Indeed, this installation can be managed by
itself thanks to filling detection sensors for each skip, allowing to
fill one or the other skip. Once one of the two bins is full, an alert
is sent.
This installation required a high suction speed on the machines
to be able to dust the industrial sanders properly.
The installation also had to take into account the possibility of
integrating future machines, which could be added to the current equipement.
Satisfied with the technical solution offered by NEU-JKF Wood Industry and its smooth operation, Lorillard plans to
develop this type of installation at other sites.
